‘Piloten’ or ‘The Pilot’ is based on the real life experience of ‘The Little Prince’ author Antoine de Saint-Exupery fused with the story he created inspired by his experience of crash-landing in the desert. Heavily inspired by the book ‘The Pilot and the Little Prince’ by Peter Sís.
Based around a small plane, a museum Guard gets transported on an epic voyage with his writing hero. We created jungle, desert and a museum. Shadow puppetry was used alongside physical puppetry, experimented with light and projection and played with humorous, stylised modern costuming against the traditional take on Saint-Exupery’s costume.
